Coach Matt
Coach Matt Russo was born a swimmer.  He has been trained by some of the best coaches. With extensive training, Matt became an outstanding breaststroker and butterflier himself.  Matt has wonderful times such as 1.03.23 in the 100 breaststroke.

Matt has been a coach at Old Westbury Aquatics for 3 years.  Besides being just a coach at OWA, Matt has been and still is a swim instructor and coach at Safe-T-Swim for the past nine years.  He also coaches St. Dominic High School swim team.  Matt works very well with kids, and has lots of fun with them.  When coaching, Matt brings his extensive fun training to the pool, where he knows that he could make better swimmers.

Before Matt’s injury, he made Seniors Mets and the zone team various times.  He still does try to swim competitively, but prefers to coach.  This is because he wants to pass on his knowledge of swimming.

Matt has always been for the team and will do anything for it.
